Question by ATL Rock Star: should i water my new bermuda grass sod?
my new house had new bermuda grass sod installed 2 weeks ago. Should I water it now…or is it dormant now? It currently looks like new sod in separate pieces that haven’t fused together yet. I assume I should water it but any thoughts?

Answer by MISS-MARY
Yes, yes, yes, that is the most important thing. Every day it needs to be watered well to keep it alive while it is attatching it’s roots to the new ground. If it rains you can skip it but, that is the biggest reason for failure, not watering. They didin’t tell you that?

White Dutch Clover Seed – 2 LB

  • Season: Perennial
  • USDA Zones: 3 – 10
  • Low growing clover
  • Used in lawns, as a ground cover, cover crop, for erosion control
  • Seeding Rate: 1/4 lb – 1/2 lb per 1,000 square feet or 8 to 10 lbs per acre

Found planting grass sod in What is the process for planting grass? Or should I use sod?

Question by RSH: What is the process for planting grass? Or should I use sod?

Best answer:

Answer by mike1942f
Whether you use sod or seed (or plugs) the process is the same in that you should break up the top few inches of the soil (till or pitchfork and rake) and smooth it. If you are using sod, which costs a bunch more, you can walk on it sooner, but you have to lay it carefully to avoid edge cracks, roll it, and keep it watered. With seed you normally have to lightly rake it in after spreading it, then use an empty (not too heavy) roller to pack it to hold the seed and take our the air and you have to keep it watered, probably more often and a ground cloth of some kind to keep it from washing away in a rain is a good idea. The grass comes up from seed very quickly, but it is fragile and you will need a couple of weeks or more before it can/must be mowed.
